How Often Should You Service Your Ice Machine?
Like you would a vehicle, we recommend getting your ice machine serviced once every 6 months. This will involve a thorough clean of the ice machine as well as changing the water filters. Provide Room for Proper Ventilation
One of the most overlookedfactors when purchasing an ice machine is providing room for proper ventilation. Most people assume “cold”, as soon as they hear the word “ice”. What is often neglected is that to convert water into ice and for ice to keep its cold state, hot air must be disposed from the ice machine.
This means that you need to create a proper path for the hot air; thereby, making ventilation an important factor.Commonly, ice machines displace hot air from the side vents however this is dependent on the machine and 150mm clearance around the entire unit is always recommended.
Also, you need to make sure that your ice machine is not installed inside a cubby or cabinet, and it is not hard pressed against a wall or next to other equipment nearby that disperses hot air.
